Kaiser Fototechnik has just introduced TwinLink, a flash trigger system that uses two different triggering signals simultaneously. While well-known wireless systems use either the infra-red or radio frequency technology, TwinLink incorporates a combination of both to guarantee interference-free operation and to give faultless triggering response.
Radio frequency transmission uses the 2.4 GHz band and eight high-performances LEDs are responsible for infra-red triggering. 16 different user selectable channels can be set on transmitter and receiver to avoid interferences with neighbouring systems.
Maximum operating range is approximately 50 m (150 ft) indoors and 200 m (600 ft) outdoors. Transmitter and receiver are equipped with multi-orientable external aerials.
TwinLink can trigger both studio flash and camera flash systems. The transmitter can either be
mounted directly to the camera hot shoe or may be positioned in an alternative location using an
adhesive hot shoe mount supplied with the unit. The receiver can be easily mounted on a tripod or on
metal surfaces using a magnetic adapter. If there is no suitable surface,
a small adhesive metal plate
will do the job. The firing signal can either be taken directly from the hot shoe contact or via cables
and adapters supplied with the kit.
Transmitter and receiver feature a LCD panel with information on channel number, function signal, battery status etc. and an adjustable power-off time from 5 to 95 minutes to save batteries. The receiver has the capability to be powered by batteries or the included mains power supply.
TwinLink is available as a transmitter/receiver set. Additional receivers can be purchased separately.
